Welcome to join a training course through Solid Road

The trainings that Solid Road offers at locations throughout the Netherlands consist of various vocational training and business training courses of 4 to 12 weeks.Participants who have successfully completed a training course receive a certificate.
The training offer of Solid Road is aiming at assisting participants to upgrade their knowledge and/or skills in a vocation through which they can generate income in their country of origin as an entrepreneur or through employment within that sector.
In vocational trainings, participants indicate in what themes or skills relevant to the vocation they need training.During business trainings, participants learn to write a realistic business plan and, together with the trainers, they look for interesting business ideas. Business training is provided by business specialists who are familiar with the working environments in the countries where the participants come from.

Business trainings

During the business training the participants learn:

  • To describe the (future) customers: who are the customers, what needs do they have, how can they be reached (through which communication channels).
  • What PR resources can be used to reach customers?
  • What economic, political developments etc. in the country of origin are to be taken into account by the actors in the sector.
  • To write an investment plan to sustain the existence and the financial feasibility of the business.

We can train you in the domain of a: 

Graphic designer

A graphic designer is concerned with the design of printed matter, digital products, or designs for use in various media. This includes brochures, leaflets, posters, flyers, book covers and websites. A graphic designer can also do the design for a house style or logo.

Web designer

Web designers design websites, provide existing websites with a new house style or design elements and design house styles.

Cook

.A cook is someone who professionally prepares food for meals.

Baker

Artisan bakers can bake products such as bread, cake, pastry and more products. During the baking training the participant can orientate himself on one or more parts of the bakers’ profession and learn the tricks of the trade.

Hairdresser

A hairdresser deals with the hair care of clients, which in most cases involves cutting, shaving, washing, bleaching, dyeing and / or modeling the hair. Depending on the available time and wishes of the participant, the training focuses on one or more components of the hairdressing profession.

Tailor

The activities of a tailor consist mainly of adjusting, repairing or fitting clothing. Tailors work in a sewing workshop, clothing repair shop or for a company that makes, repairs or changes clothing. But there are also plenty of tailors who work from home. Tailors can help the pattern makers in making patterns.

Fashion Designer

The task of the fashion designer is to come up with and design clothing. During the training you can, for example, learn how to draw designs and develop them further.

Florist

During this professional training, participants can, for example, obtain specific professional knowledge of flowers and plants. An important part of the professional knowledge as a florist is flower arranging.

Car Mechanic

A car mechanic (also a car technician) is a technically trained person who maintains and repairs cars (and car parts), usually employed by a garage or dealer. Car mechanics often also work on other means of transport, such as motorbikes and mopeds.

Welder

Welders can work at a shipyard, at a construction company or another company where technical devices and other products are manufactured or maintained with (parts of) metal. 

Plumber

Plumbers are professionals in installation technology. It is important that a plumber understands how certain systems such as drains and water pipes should be installed so that no problems can arise with the installation.

Elektrician

An electrician specializes in installing, (dis) assembling and maintaining electrical installations. An electrician ensures that power is drained safely and electrical devices and installations can be used safely.

Mason

Masons construct walls in buildings. A mason bricklays or glues the interior and exterior walls of homes and office buildings. The mason processes bricks, brick mortar and artificial stones, among other things. Masons can be widely involved in construction.

Carpenter

A carpenter is mainly concerned with making wooden structures. Examples of wooden constructions are wooden frames, pieces of furniture, roof beam systems.

Farmer

A farmer is someone who lives from agriculture, gardening or animal husbandry.
