Information about return to Syria

Financial support

For return to Syria, the following applies: each adult receives an amount of €2,800 and each minor child receives an amount of €1,650.

Syrians who are still in the asylum procedure or Syrians who hold a residence permit receive the money in cash at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport on the day of departure.
They receive: €2,800 per adult and €1,650 per minor child in cash at Schiphol Airport.

Syrians whose asylum application has been rejected receive the amount in goods and partly in cash in Syria after return, through Solid Road’s partner organization in Syria.
They receive: €2,800 per adult and €1,650 per minor child in goods and partly in cash after return to Syria.

Return to Syria is possible with a valid Syrian passport as well as with an expired Syrian passport, regardless of how long the passport has been expired.

If you have a valid or expired Syrian passport, we can arrange the return quickly.
If you do not have a valid or expired Syrian passport, we can assist you in applying for a temporary travel document.

The flight will be booked and paid for on your behalf; there are no costs involved.

    Travel routes to Syria

    At this moment, there are three travel routes to Syria:

    1. From Amsterdam Schiphol to Amman (Jordan) and then onward by bus to Damascus.
      The flight ticket to Amman and the bus ticket to Damascus will be arranged and paid for.
    2. From Amsterdam Schiphol to Amman (Jordan) and then onward by plane to Damascus.
      The flight tickets to Amman and Damascus will be arranged and paid for.
    3. Flight from Amsterdam Schiphol to Doha (Qatar) and then onward by plane from Doha to Damascus.
      The flight tickets to Doha and to Damascus will be arranged and paid for.
